About Me

Experienced

Social Worker

It has always been my desire to help provide patients and their loved ones with individualized support and guidance that a traditional healthcare system cannot handle. Being born different in a world that caters to the “normal” and being in a position of needing an advocate whilst being a long-term patient in the medical field has led me to the field of social work. My years of diversified experience in human services and healthcare settings have ignited my unwavering commitment to the social work profession.

I have proven my competencies in empowering clients during medical crises and promoting their rights within the healthcare system. As a Social Worker with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in social work, I see myself as an ideal fit to be your patient advocate.

My peers, managers, and colleagues recognize me as a passionate, steadfast, and resilient individual. I am a social worker through and through: I am an advocate, broker, case manager, counselor, educator, facilitator, manager, mediator, and leader. I never cease helping others. I have worked in various roles and settings, including but not limited to: Medical Social Worker, Family Based Therapist, Behavioral Therapist, Home Health Caregiver, Resident Care Aide, Older Adult Protective Services Investigator, and Residential Program Supervisor, making me unique in having a broad knowledge of various healthcare systems. Having such varied experiences has also afforded me the unique opportunity to work with various populations, including but not limited to: older adults, individuals with intellectual disabilities comorbid with other disabilities, individuals with traumatic brain injuries, individuals with mental health diagnoses, including but not limited to: autism, ODD, DMD, depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder.

Equipped with stellar interpersonal and communication skills, I have successfully built and maintained mutually beneficial relationships with medical teams, patients, families, and various agencies and resources in Westmoreland, Allegheny, and Washington counties.

My extensive experience has enabled me to understand complicated and complex cases, connect individuals with available resources, protect and advocate for clients’ rights, and ensure client’s concerns and opinions are not only heard but given the weight they deserve in the decision-making processes.

Thriving in the ever-evolving social work practice, I am always committed to advocating for clients, patients, and families to make informed decisions. In every role that I have held, I have always advocated for my clients.  I am confident that my knowledge, skills, and competence will contribute significantly to being your patient advocate.
